Multi-sensory reading is a scientifically proven method for improving reading comprehension skills. It uses audio and visual cues to help the reader comprehend the material.
Dyslexia is a common but hidden disability. Students often do not want anyone to know about their disability due to fear of shame. While multi-sensory reading, which engages sight and hearing, is a proven method for increasing reading comprehension, most students do not find current resources stimulating enough to practice. As a result, they lack the motivation to work at improving their reading comprehension skills.
How might we create a tool that provides students with dyslexia the ability to practice multi-sensory reading with compelling and engaging reading prompts and track and measure their progress, so they do not lose hope in their reading ability?
