Project Overview
Transit should be as smooth as a sunny ride to the winery. My Grape Line redesign is all about making riders feel valued—with trip planning, bus tracking, and ticket buying that’s a breeze. By simplifying the chaos and centralizing info, it’s designed to turn frustration into flow. I tackled this to show that UX can transform even the bumpiest journeys into something worth smiling about.
Problem Statement
Lodi Grape Line riders feel overlooked, wrestling with a clunky digital experience and scattered info that makes transit a chore. Without a streamlined, user-friendly hub, they’d rather ditch the bus for any option that feels simpler and more welcoming.
My Approach
I saw Grape Line riders stuck in a digital maze, and I wanted their transit to feel like a sunny breeze instead. My approach was simple but bold: dive deep into rider frustrations, streamline the chaos, and design a hub that feels like a warm welcome. By putting users first and iterating through sketches and prototypes, I aimed to transform transit headaches into smooth rides, showing that faith in the process can make every journey brighter.
Design Process
I started with the riders, diving into their world through interviews and observations to uncover pain points like confusing navigation and scattered info. I created personas for everyone from daily commuters to winery-hoppers, keeping their needs at the heart of my work. Rough sketches on paper helped me brainstorm a flow that’s smooth as a vineyard breeze, followed by low-fidelity wireframes in Figma to nail the structure. Mid-fidelity prototypes added depth, and high-fidelity designs brought in warm colors and custom icons to match Grape Line’s vibe. Usability testing with real riders gave me the nudge to simplify even more, ensuring every click feels like a warm welcome.
Minimum Viable Product (MVP)

Outcome & Impact
The Grape Line redesign turned transit chaos into a smooth, rider-first experience, delivering a mobile app that makes trip planning, bus tracking, and ticket buying feel like a breeze. It empowers commuters and winery-hoppers alike, showing they’re valued with every tap. This project proves I can take a tangled system and design a solution that rolls out the welcome mat, making every ride a little brighter.
Key Takeaways
Grape Line was my chance to transform transit chaos into clarity. I leveled up my Figma skills, from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes, while mastering user interviews to keep riders first. I learned that a warm, simple design can make all the difference, transforming frustration into flow. This project showed me that with trust in the process, I can design experiences that feel like a sunny ride for every user.
